In the Webometrics rankings of January 2017 ranking, public universities took the top five positions, with Strathmore and Catholic University taking position 6 and 7 respectively. Interestingly, Kenya Medical Training College was at position 9, and Michuki Technical – Murang’a, made it to the top 20.

Webometrics, one of the largest academic ranking of Higher Education Institutions, ranks Universities every six months. The ranking is performed by the Cybermetrics Lab – Spain, and it considers teaching commitment, research results, perceived international prestige, and links with the community, including industrial and economic sectors, of the university.

Cybermetrics Lab states that web design is totally irrelevant in its ranking as all the measurements are related to the contents published.
